By accessing or using TapTap Buddy's website, services, or purchasing our NFC-enabled safety devices, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TapTap Buddy regarding your use of our child safety products and related services.
Important Notice
You must be 18 years or older to create an account. Parents/guardians are responsible for all activities under their account.
2. Service Description
TapTap Buddy provides NFC-enabled wristbands and keychains designed to help emergency responders quickly access critical contact and medical information for children in emergency situations.

- • Online dashboard for data management

3. User Eligibility
To use TapTap Buddy services, you must meet the following requirements:
Account Holders Must Be:
- 18 years of age or older
- Legal guardian or parent of the child using the device
- Legally capable of entering into binding contracts
- Providing accurate and complete registration information
COPPA Compliance:
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. All account registration and device programming must be performed by parents or legal guardians.
By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
4. Account Registration
When you create an account with TapTap Buddy, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- Promptly updating your account information as needed
- Accepting responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized account access
Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. We recommend using a strong, unique password.
5. Purchase Terms
Pricing and Payment
- All prices are displayed in USD and include applicable taxes
- Payment is required at the time of purchase
- We accept major credit cards through secure payment processors
- Launch pricing and promotional offers may be time-limited
Returns and Refunds

Product Warranty

You agree to use TapTap Buddy products and services only for their intended purpose of providing emergency contact information for child safety.
Permitted Uses:

- • Using devices for child safety and identification purposes
Prohibited Uses:
- • Programming false or misleading information
- • Using devices for tracking or surveillance without consent
- • Reverse engineering or tampering with NFC technology
- • Reselling or distributing devices without authorization
- • Using devices for any illegal or harmful activities
7. Intellectual Property Rights
The TapTap Buddy service, including our website, mobile applications, logos, product designs, and software, are owned by TapTap Buddy and protected by intellectual property laws.
Our Rights
- All content, trademarks, and trade names are our property
- Software and technology used in our products is proprietary
- You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property
Your Rights
- You own the personal information you program onto NFC tags
- Limited license to use our software for intended purposes
- Right to use TapTap Buddy products for personal, non-commercial use
8. Privacy & Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Following COPPA Requirements
We do not collect personal information from children under 13. All emergency contact information is stored locally on NFC devices and controlled entirely by parents.

9. Children's Privacy Protection
No Data Collection from Children
TapTap Buddy does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
- Only parents/guardians (18+) can create accounts
- Children cannot access or modify data
- All profile management requires adult authentication
- Emergency information is stored locally on NFC tags, not online
COPPA Requirements Implementation
We implement the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requirements:
- Parental consent before any data storage
- Parents can review and delete data at any time
- Minimal data collection policy
- No behavioral tracking of children
Note: We are currently pursuing official COPPA Safe Harbor certification through PRIVO to formalize our compliance. Until certified, we follow all COPPA requirements as outlined above.
10. Your Data Rights
You have comprehensive rights regarding your personal data:
Your Rights:
- • Access: Request a copy of your data
- • Deletion: Delete your account and all data
- • Correction: Update incorrect information
- • Portability: Export data in standard format
- • Objection: Opt-out of marketing
Account Deletion:
Deletion is permanent and immediate. We require email verification to prevent unauthorized deletions. All associated data including profiles, contacts, and order history will be permanently removed.

- Use the relevant buttons for each action
- Follow verification steps for sensitive actions

Zero Data Retention: When you delete your account, we permanently remove all your data within 24 hours with no possibility of recovery.
11. Disclaimers & Warranties
Important Medical Disclaimer
TapTap Buddy devices are NOT medical devices and should not be relied upon as the sole method of emergency communication. Always ensure children know how to contact emergency services directly.
Service Disclaimers:
- Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
- NFC technology requires compatible devices to function properly
- Emergency responders may not always have NFC-enabled devices
- Information accuracy depends on data provided by parents/guardians
Product Warranties:
- Limited warranty covers manufacturing defects only
- Normal wear and tear is not covered under warranty
- Water resistance does not guarantee protection in all conditions
- NFC range and performance may vary by device and environment
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TapTap Buddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Liability Limitations:
- • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for products
- • We are not liable for emergency response failures
- • No liability for third-party device compatibility issues
- • Not responsible for medical emergencies or outcomes
- • No liability for data loss or device malfunction
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limitations may not apply to you. You may have other rights that vary by jurisdiction.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TapTap Buddy, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use or misuse of TapTap Buddy products or services
- Your violation of these Terms of Service
- Your violation of any rights of third parties
- Information you program onto NFC devices
- Any negligent or wrongful conduct by you or your children
This indemnification obligation will survive termination of these Terms.
14. Termination
Your Rights:
- • Close your account at any time
- • Stop using our services
- • Request data deletion
- • Keep purchased products
Our Rights:
- • Terminate accounts for Terms violations
- • Suspend services for investigation
- • Discontinue service with notice
- • Preserve data as required by law
Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use our services ceases immediately. Previously purchased products remain functional, but you lose access to online dashboard and support services.
15. Dispute Resolution
We encourage resolving disputes through direct communication. Please contact us first at tappect@gmail.com before pursuing legal action.
Informal Resolution
Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us. We will work in good faith to resolve your concerns.
Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except you may assert claims in small claims court.
Class Action Waiver
You agree not to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitrations against TapTap Buddy.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which TapTap Buddy is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Jurisdiction
Any legal proceedings not subject to arbitration will be conducted in the courts of competent jurisdiction where TapTap Buddy is located.
17. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through email or a notice on our website.

- In-dashboard notifications for logged-in users
- 30 days advance notice for material changes

- Continue using services under updated terms
